Work restarted in full swing in the Bengali film and television industries after directors and technicians called off their strikes following intervention by CM Mamata Banerjee on Tuesday.
The CM met director Gautam Ghose, actors Prosenjit Chatterjee and Dev, and state power minister Aroop Biswas on Tuesday evening to discuss the situation, following which it was decided in another late evening meeting that the Federation will no longer enforce bans or indulge in non-cooperation.
Panel to recommend policy changesA review committee was also constituted with Gautam Ghose as the chairman and Prosenjit Chatterjee, Dev, Indranil Sen, and Aroop Biswas, and representatives from all guilds as members. It was asked to examine and revise standard practices across film, TV, OTT, and other sectors and submit a report, based on which changes will be implemented in these industries by November.

Moreover, Rahool Mukherjee was allowed to direct his untitled Puja release, which will go on the floors within a week. Speaking to us, Subrata Sen, president, Directors Association of Eastern India (DAEI), said, “We are extremely happy that shooting has resumed.
