I'm excited and nervous: Sampurna
His Cha-E-Chuti and Bye Bye Bangkok were appreciated and loved by all.
And this time around, director Aniket Chattopadhaya is all set to direct his next Gorai Gondogol, which is a full-on comedy with an enviable cast. The story and script is by Aniket himself. To me, script is always the king.
1x1 polls
Actors only compliment a script. In my previous two films too, I laid stress on the same. This film too is a comedy and I strongly believe that it is the most difficult genre in film-making. It is indeed difficult to make one laugh through intelligent dialogues and situations, said Aniket.
The cast of GG includes Rahul, Sampurna Lahiri, Dipankar De, Rajatava Dutta, Saswata Chatterjee, Rudranil Ghosh, Kharaj Mukherjee, Kanchan Mullick, Koneenica Banerjee, Locket Chatterjee, Manasi, Pradip and others. Badal Sarkar is the DOP of the film. We will take some new music director on board for this film, informed Aniket.
Sampurna too is looking forward to this film. This will be my first big screen venture. So, I am excited and nervous at the same time. I loved Aniketdas previous two films, as comedy is my all-time fave. He is helping me to get into character and I hope, I can deliver, smiled Sampurna.
Giving a peek into the storyline, Aniket said, The film is about how Rik (played by Rahul) and Paula (essayed by Sampurna) ultimately tie the knot amidst loads of confusion. Rik, an orphan and an introvert, works for an IT company and is in love with Paula, a chirpy extrovert, who believes that life is a celebration of unabashed simplicity. Paulas father, Durbheddo Brohmo Singha Roy, (essayed by Dipankar De) is a man with great family pride and wants his daughter to get married into a family at par with his own. Confusion arises when Rik comes to Paulas father with the marriage proposal.

Hilarious incidents take place one after the other. The cast and crew will leave for Rajasthan soon to shoot the honeymoon sequence. The Kolkata leg of shooting starts from July 20. Rahul, who is not willing to talk about the project, said, All I can say is that when I heard the script, I couldnt stop laughing.
Koneenica too is upbeat about this film, Aniketda offered me to act in his past two films, but I couldnt because of prior commitments. This time around, when he narrated the script, I jumped the gun. My character is very interesting with a lot of shades. I play a modern wife of an affluent family. I am not supposed to divulge more details. Time to laugh out loud!
