Apart from Bengalis, even residents of the US are also attached to this event," Sukalyan says from New Jersey.
Ask Sukalyan whether he finds it more challenging to choreograph for a film or a stage production and he says, "Of course, my vote would go for stage productions. I have been a fan of Broadway shows. I feel, Bengalis too must be able to present shows of that standard if the community gets enough funding and has unity."
Though stage productions are his first love, Sukalyan is excited about his forthcokming film releases too. "I did the choreography for Buddhadeb Dasgupta's "Woh". Then, there is Anik Dutta's "Bhooter Bhobishyot". I am also very excited about choreographing Swastika Mukherjee in Sougata Roy Burman's "Tobe Tai Hok". The film also stars Joy Sengupta and Samadarshi Dutta. It's a scene where I will be choreographing Swastika without any music playing in the backdrop. The work is very challenging. I am working on four emotions fear, happiness, depression and freedom," Sukalyan adds.
The choreographer will be coming down to Kolkata on August 17 to begin work on this film
