Speaking to us about working with Raj, Mithun said, “This is not the first time I’m working with Raj; I worked with him in Dance Bangla Dance before. But yes, this is our first film together. I’m always there for him.”

I’m absolutely fine, otherwise how am I working? The media only writes about my health issues. But I’m doing great

It’s a dream come true for me to work with Mithunda: Ritwick Chakraborty
Ritwick Chakraborty: I’m working with Raj for the first time after Abar Proloy. And this is my first project with Mithunda. Previously, there were talks about working with him, but those didn’t materialise. I was waiting to share the screen with him for a long time and ultimately it’s happening. So, it is a dream come true for me. I am playing his son (Indranil Bose) who is not a nice person. There is a distance between the father and son that has grown over the years. There are mostly emotional scenes between Mithun da and me and after each shot, the whole unit was clapping – such is his delivery and acting. There are many shots between dada and me where there is a lot of tension. I was telling Raj that after this film releases, the audience might just beat me up on the street as my character is giving a lot of trouble and sad moments to Mithunda (smiles)!

It was my dream to direct Mithunda in a film; finally I’m doing it: Raj Chakrabarty
I call dada (Mithunda) lion. In fact, the whole team calls him lion. His body language, the way he walks with bodyguards all around him, the way he talks is like a king. And the moment he is in front of the camera, it’s like magic. He can bring out tears in a second (without a drop of glycerin) and some little nitty-gritties he does in the final take simply elevates the shot. Till date, he has been nailing it with single takes and he never checks the monitor. As soon as I say ‘cut’, he will ask ‘what is my next shot’. It was my dream to direct him in a film and ultimately, I am doing it. But one needs to do proper homework before directing him, as he is very sorted and wants the same from team. And dada values time, so I plan his shots keeping that in mind.
About the film

According to Raj, the film is about the importance of parents in people’s lives, which one realises when one becomes a parent. “How important it is to give time to them when they are ageing. Only sending money to them doesn’t end one’s responsibility as a child, as they have other expectations from their children. So, the film revolves around a parent’s need for children’s love & time,” he said.

Mithunda has quit smoking three months ago, so the way he smells the cigarette is frame-worthy. He loves to eat singara, kochuri, and loves to cook for the team, but now he is not doing all these because of health restrictions. He loves to live life as a king– Raj Chakrabarty
