I'll wear a sari at Cannes: Paoli

Tollywood���������s leading lady, Paoli, whose French date begins on May 15, says she will try to meet Brad Pitt and Kim Ki-duk
While news of Freida Pinto, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Sonam Kapoor walking the Cannes red carpet has been hogging the limelight, Kolkata girl Paoli is busy deciding on her look for her French date. Paoli���������s ���������Chatrak��������� is part of the prestigious Director���������s Fortnight section that had previously shown films of Robert Bresson, Francis Ford Coppola and many others.
Says Paoli, ���������I will be going to Cannes on May 15 and will be there till the 22nd.Since I am going to Cannes for my movie that is set in Bengal, I want to wear something that is totally Indian. I have decided on wearing a sari. There can be some fusion elements in my look but the appeal will be largely Indian. I���������ve decided on wearing Sayantan Sarkar���������s creations. I have worked with him earlier and, I think, we will gel well.���������
Paoli continues, ���������Accompanying me on this trip will be Aniruddha Chakladar. While he will do my make-up, Sandy will be my stylist.���������
Says Sayantan, ���������There will be six changes. We want her to uphold the cultural heritage of India. As of now, we are keeping two saris but the final call lies with Vimukthi. One will be a glamorous sari in georgette or chiffon with marble dye and lots of embroidery. This sari will have a cutaway bustier blouse in satin. If the event is in the evening, it will be in the peacock shades. If the event is in the day, we can go for pastel shades. The other sari will be in matka silk or organza. This will be black in colour with a red border. This sari will not have any embroidery on it. It will basically rely on dyeing techniques. With this, I will be giving a brocade corset.���������
Sayantan has also designed a skirt in tussar georgette with flares. ���������That has an off white and gold combination. The individual kalis will have woven patterns on it. I will be pairing this skirt with a corset and a jacket,��������� he says.
Says Aniruddha, ���������Paoli has an image of a serious actor. We want her to look simple and yet glamorous. Her eyes are the focal point. So, my stress will be on her eyes. I also like her nice earthy skintone.���������
Meanwhile, Paoli has already planned which star directors and actors she would try to meet at Cannes. ���������I am a huge fan of Brad Pitt and am dying to meet him. I���������ve even been told that Korea���������s master director, Kim Ki-duk, might be attending the Festival. Come what may, I will make it a point to meet Kim Ki-duk.���������
