I am glad to see some respect for freedom in this country: Parambrata

Parambrata Chattopadhyay has welcomed the Section 377 verdict, decriminalizing homosexuality. He says that he is glad that the final pillar of democracy is still independent. The actor took to social media to share his views on the verdict. He wrote, "And this dear friends, is true for most other aspects of life, and society too, all over the world! “Majoritarian views and popular morality cannot dictate constitutional rights.We have to vanquish prejudice, embrace inclusion and ensure equal rights (sic).” Speaking to us, Parambrata said, "I am glad to see some respect for freedom in this country. It has been a rarity in recent times."
