It was already evening when Hiran walked in with wife Anindita to a Jodhpur Park studio to watch a screening of his forthcoming release, Risk. Dressed in an informal brown outfit, Anindita was equally excited about her hubbys film. After all, Risk is an important film in Hirans professional career.
Married for close to three years, the couple also has a daughter. Hiya, as Hirans daughter is named, didnt make it to the private screening though the little one is a huge fan of daddys films and doesnt miss a single one of them. Yet, prod Hiran about his married life and hed rather talk movies.
How important was it for you to risk a change of image?Nabab Nandini had its share of romance and action. After watching NN, Riingoda had told me that action suits me well. True, people know me as a chocolate boy. Its all about destiny and timing that Im doing Risk at this stage in my career.
What have you risked in Risk?I have gone with a no make-up look. Riingoda, who is a very good cinematographer, insisted that he would film me both with make-up on and without it. I was satisfied with my no make-up look and decided to go ahead with it. Even for heroes in Tollywood, make-up is always a must. Glam quotient apart, it also protects our skin. Besides, Ive done the whole film without any change in costume. And thirdly, one must check out my daredevil bike-riding sequences down the Bypass. I almost risked my life shooting them amidst speeding traffic.
Your screen character in Risk lies through his hat. Have you met such
characters in your life?
I had this friend in college who would take us to restaurants. When it came to picking up the tab, hed invariably disappear to the washroom. I think such people create a dream world believing that if they can continue harping on it, people will someday accept Utopia as a fact.
Is it important to peddle half-truths to survive in this industry?According to the Mahabharata, its permissible to say white lies, provided it doesnt hurt anybody. This holds true in every sphere of our life.
Since one has met your wife, why are you so reticent about your marital status?I wouldnt want to be asked this question.
How good a father are you?No comments.
You are often linked to model-actor Dipannita... We stay in the same locality and have done some modelling assignments together. Later on, we did Ma Amar Ma as well. Since we are in touch, the grapevine circulates such link-up stories.
Are there any donts for you in the industry? If Im asked to do a film where I have to wear a gamcha and climb up a date palm tree, I might not do it.
That means a role like Big B did in Saudagar isnt something you would consider now...It took me six films to do a film without make-up. I might consider doing it sometime in the future. Since I belong to the world of entertainment, Ill deliver what my fans want.
