Dhrubo Banerjee will direct ‘
Karnasubarner Guptodhon
’ and as the title suggests it will once again be a journey deep into the treasure trove of Bengal’s rich history with mystery and adventure.

Ishaa Saha will reprise their roles of Sonada, Abir and Jhinuk respectively.
In his previous two films ‘Guptodhoner Sondhane’ and ‘Durgeshgorer Guptodhon’, Dhrubo had mixed the thills of history and adventure with Bengal’s heritage in the right proportion to deliver two blockbusters. It will be the same this time.
“Bengal has a treasure trove of history, literature and culture. I want to reintroduce these aspects to the young generation through the Guptodhon franchise. Bengal’s history has so many lesser-known chapters despite being important.
Karnasubarna
is one such chapter,” explains the director.
Karnasubarna was the capital of Gauda Kingdom during the reign of Raja Shashanka, the first important king of ancient Bengal who ruled in the 7th century. The ruins of Karnasuvarna have been located at Kansona in the present Murshidabad. Even the famous Chinese traveler Xuanzang had mentioned Karnasuvarna in his travelogues.
Right now, the adventure flick is in its scripting stage. The makers are planning to release the film in 2022. Meanwhile, Dhrubo has yet another film on hand, the Dev starrer
Raghu Dakat
. However, Karnasubarna’s shoot will start before Raghu Dakat.
