Happy Independence Day: Rituparna wants a society free from female foeticide and domestic violence

The entire nation will observe India’s 74th Independence Day tomorrow amid the novel coronavirus pandemic. The celebrations can’t be the same this year, as the chain of this pandemic has to be broken.
Rituparna Sengupta, too, wants this pandemic, this dark phase, to pass out soon as the actress shares with us how she feels at this time and urges everyone to remain positive and don’t lose hope.The Tollywood diva wants freedom from a lot of things like female feticide, child abuse and domestic violence.
“I want independence from lot of things. Like first of all, COVID-19 which is taking a toll on all of us. We want freedom from this virus and I want this pandemic to end so that we can all go back to our normal lives,” said Rituparna in an exclusive video message to ETimes.

She also pointed out some serious social issues which have dragged our society down for years. “I also want freedom from female foeticide, domestic violence, child abuse, women abuse and a lot of things. But at the same time I want to remain calm and be positive and not lose hope,” adds the seasoned actress who is right now in Singapore with her family.
Despite the troubled time, Rituparna urges all to stay calm and be positive. “We are going through a tough time. But we need to be strong. We need to have a lot of confidence that there will be a better day ahead and I am wishing a very happy Independence Day to all of us. Let this dark night pass and we see a beautiful day coming up,” signs off the celebrated actress.
