Gumnaami’s Purulia shoot kicks off

Gumnaami’s Purulia shoot kicks off
The shoot of Srijit Mukherji’s upcoming film, Gumaani, is currently on in Purulia’s Ayodha hills. Even though the unit members are tight-lipped about the shoot and sequences, according to our sources, since the script requires some special shots in a forest, there was no better option than Purulia. Earlier, Srijit had personally visited Ayodhya to do the recce for his dream project.

On the 123rd birth anniversary of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose, the first poster of Gumnami – The Greatest Story Never Told was released. Prosenjit Chatterjee will be playing the role of Gumnaami baba in the film. The project was announced on August 18 last year, the fateful day when Netaji’s plane reportedly crashed in Taiwan. The upcoming thriller is set to explore the myth of the mysterious sadhu, often addressed as Gumnaami baba, whom many believed to be Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose himself in disguise.
We have also learnt that music director Indraadip Dasgupta is busy with Gumnaami’s background score and songs. He said that there are four songs in the film and all of them are patriotic. “It has a large orchestral sound and the flavour of typical patriotic music. However, more than the songs, the background music is proving to be more challenging,” he added.
When asked about the reason, Indraadip said that it is quite difficult to combine the place where Gumnaami baba lived and where his roots belong. “Along with that, we are creating pro-Independence as well as post-Independence sounds and combining that with patriotism. It is a very challenging task,” he added. Besides Gumnami, Indraadip is also working on the background score of two films – Bornoporichoy and Porineeta.
