Aparna Sen and
Konkona Sen Sharma, the mother-daughter duo, are pairing up yet again after a long gap. This time Aparna Sen is set to direct a
Hindi
film starring Konkona,
Arjun Rampal and
Tanmay Dhanania in the lead.
It’s a
striking story
of a trio and how their lives get connected after one horrific incident. The film dives deep inside the dark alleys of an obvious crime, exploring not just how it traumatizes the victims, but also perpetrators of the crime. It will shed light on one's idealistic views and how they are drastically altered when a truth comes knocking on the door.
Sen, who has also penned the script, shares with ETimes: "What attracted me to this subject is the psychology of the three main protagonists. The story strips off the layers and slowly builds up facades to find out the real person underneath."
She adds the story will show us two different worlds of India, one that survives in urban slums holding on to age-old beliefs and the other is an educated urbane India with a 'progressive' value system.
"I am quite confident that this film will make the viewers think about certain questions - the ones that torment me every day," she explained.
