Goutam Ghose’s new script talks about hope, love and joy

After finishing the Italian leg of his upcoming film, Goutam Ghose was supposed to start shooting in India. However, that got stalled due the outbreak of

pandemic

. To use the lockdown time well, the filmmaker has started working on a new script.

“In this time of hopelessness, I am willing to do something positive and cheerful. It will talk about hope, love and joy. On this script, I want impulse to be there, he said.

Talking about his stalled Indo-Italian project that features Italian actor Marco Leonardi, Goutam said, “It is unfortunate that we couldn’t work this monsoon. Marco did not commit to any other project because of this. However, this pandemic has impacted my perspective towards the film and I did a bit of changing.”

After shooting in

Italy

for over a month in December and January, Goutam came back to Kolkata early this year. The filmmaker had left for

Naples

on December 29. The film features Marco Leonardi, who played the teen years of Salvatore Di Vita in Giuseppe Tornatore’s iconic film,

Cinema Paradiso

. Besides, Italian actress Cristina Donadio will also be seen in a pivotal character. Talking about his shooting in Italy, the director said, “On December 31, Naples hosts a huge and gorgeous firework display by the sea. I wanted to film it so that I can use it in my film. It was an almost Italian crew and only four or five people spoke English. But I realised language is definitely not a problem. Cinema has its own language and I faced no difficulty shooting in Italy.”
