Goopy Gyne Bagha Byne to make a comeback

We were the first to tell you that talks were on to bring back

Goopy Gyne Bagha Byne

on the big screen and now confirmation has come straight from

Anindya Chattopadhyay

, who is set to direct the venture. The director had long been working on an original script with the two iconic characters created by

Upendrakishore Ray Chowdhury

, and it’s not a modern version of the original story. The film will go on the floors this year and release in 2019, which marks 50 years of Goopy Gyne Bagha Byne. Incidentally, the latter was produced by

Purnima Pictures

and the banner will revive itself with the film by Anindya.
