Gojamil stars Bimal and Alivia in the lead
Gojamil directed by Surajit Mukherjee stars Bimal Giri, Alivia Sarkar, Rajiv Bose and others in the lead.
Love came silently into Bijoy’s life once, but when it left, it went out with a lot of noise—not just once, but twice. Whether those instances could truly be called love is, however, open to debate. Bijoy is a simple, conservative Bengali man, completely detached from cigarettes, alcohol, and women. He has a small household with Leela, his wife of four years. His daily routine revolves around office and home, a life that made Bijoy content but left Leela dissatisfied. Leela is intelligent, educated, and smart. Shortly after marrying Bijoy at her parents’ insistence, she realizes their relationship is a complete mismatch. One day, by chance, she meets Mr. Kar, Bijoy’s boss. Mr. Kar is exactly the kind of man Leela had always envisioned as her ideal partner. Although Mr. Kar is married, his wife is nothing like his type, which makes it easy for Leela and Mr. Kar to form a romantic relationship.
Their affair progresses to the point where they decide to elope. Leela writes a letter to Bijoy and leaves with Kar. However, fate intervenes, and Bijoy meets Mrs. Kar. She informs him that she will never divorce Mr. Kar advises Bijoy to remarry. She even helps him find a suitable bride. On the wedding day, however, the bride-to-be elopes with a man of her choice, just like Leela did. Bijoy feels shattered, but during his conversations with Mrs. Kar, they both come to realize they have developed feelings for each other. Both had suffered in marriages arranged by their families and decided not to repeat the same mistake. Finally, the story ends with the happy union of Bijoy and Kar, bringing the chaotic tale, aptly titled “Gojamil” (The Entanglement), to a close.
“The character of Bijoy in the web series is heart touching. A simple, common man, who is compassionate for love and dreams to make his married life more affectionate and fulfilling. His struggles, passions, and vulnerabilities will make him relatable to the real-life experiences of the audience. It was a memorable experience for me in bringing the character of Bijoy to life. I hope viewers will connect with his story," said Bimal.
