Prosenjit Chatterjee is set to produce three food films, part of a four-film franchise, under the banner of his home production Nideas Creations.
These films will give the Bengali audience a delightful taste of their eternal food culture, especially during the Puja. The stories are set in different cultural backgrounds focusing on different cuisines and will have the flavours of romance, comedy and drama.
One of the films, ‘
Dawat-e-Biryani
’, will be directed by Aditi Roy starring veteran actress Suhasini Mulay in the lead and the shoot will be done mostly in Lucknow.
Debarati Gupta whose last project was ‘Onek Diner Pore’ is set to direct ‘
Filter Coffee and Liquor Cha
’, a soothing romantic story of a South Indian boy and Bengali girl.
Priyanka Sarkar will play the female lead.
Sudip Das will helm the film ‘
Daab Chingri
’, a popular dish from Bengal. This film will see actress-turned-politician
Sandhya Roy in the lead.
