The 48
th International Kolkata Book Fair will be inaugurated on January 28 at the Boimela Prangan, in presence of delegates from Germany, the Focal Theme Country, along with authors and other dignitaries.
The following are the highlights of this year's International Kolkata Book Fair:

There will be around 1000 stalls and Little Magazines. The number of stalls will be the same like last year.
2.
This year, the International Kolkata Book Fair is becoming an open air book fair in its true sense. There will be no halls where earlier the English language publishers used to be present. Instead, there will be a designated ‘Premier Area’ for all English language participants. At the same time for the convenience of the English language participants, the Guild has drastically reduced the contribution amount for the stalls.

Senior Citizen’s Day, ‘Chiro Tarun’ will be celebrated on 4 February. An interactive session between a senior author, senior publisher and a senior reader will be organised on that day. Children’s Day will be celebrated on the first Sunday, 2 February 2025.

There will be nine entry and exit gates in the IKBF 2025 for the easy movement of the visitors. One of the gates will be named after German author Goethe and another will be named after German born Philologist and Orientalist Max Mueller.

Birth centenary year of Narayan Sanyal, Salil Chowdhury, Rhittik Ghatak, Tapan Sinha, Arundhuti Debi and 125
th Birth year of Kazi Nazrul Islam and Jibananda Das will be celebrated in the Book Fair.

International Kolkata Book Fair 2025 android app to locate any stall in the fair using Google location, created by Sister Nivedita University will be available soon.
7.
A special digital ground map with the participant list of the IKBF 2025 will be available just by scanning QR Code at all the entry points of the Book Fair.
8.
Around 20 Countries across the globe will participate at the International Kolkata Book Fair 2025.

"Buy books and win a Book Library" - As a commitment to society, Guild’s initiative to disseminate the opportunity to more and more book lovers. A daily lottery will be organised and the winners will win Book Gift Coupons.
10. The major attraction of the International Kolkata Book Fair that we all look forward to, will be the 11
th edition of the Kolkata Literature Festival which will be held for three days inside the SBI auditorium, from February 6 to 8.
