’. It’s been 37 long years and now the national award-winning filmmaker is ready to play a newspaper editor in
Pratim D Gupta
’s upcoming thriller ‘
Shantilal O Projapoti Rohoshyo
’. He plays the editor of an English daily The Sentinel where Shantilal Bhattacharya (played by
Ritwick Chakraborty) works as a weather reporter.
After ‘Grihajuddha’, Goutam Ghose made a comeback of sorts in Srijit Mukherji’s 2011 Box Office hit ‘Baishe Srabon’. The renowned director has appeared in a few selected films over the years. He played key roles in ‘Ekla Akash’ (2012) and ‘Chotushkone’ (2014). He also had a guest appearance in Iranian filmmaker Majid Majidi’s latest release ‘Beyond the Clouds’. That aside, Goutam was last seen in debutant director Dhrubo Banerjee’s ‘Guptodhoner Sondhane’ as the last scion of a zamindar family.
‘Shantilal O Projapoti Rohoshyo’ sees
Paoli Dam playing the female lead, a popular actress Nandini who ventures into politics. Chitrangada Chakraborty, Ambarish Bhattacharya, Shankar Chakraborty and Swaroopa Ghosh will also be seen in pivotal roles.
