Maa Durga is the most popular of all incarnations of the militant mother-goddess. Some worship her as the mother, some see her as the daughter of Bengal. Her aura and invincibility easily eclipse other deities. Durga not just represents the fierce fight of liberation of women against all parochial mindsets, it also sheds light on the eventual victory of good over evil and restoration of calm and sanity through her dual-natured aspects.
Well, now a short film titled ‘
Gauri’ has been made to celebrate the spirit of Maa Durga. Directed by Tanisha Mallick and Chakraborty, it also tries to show unexplainable, divine interventions do happen even in the 21
st century. The film stars Tanisha Chakraborty and Badhisattya Majumder in pivotal roles. While the camera works are by Shantanu Bej and Sanjib Das, it’s edited by ‘Shibam Samanta. The film will soon be released across digital platforms.
