Gargi Roy Chowdhury is excited about playing the role of Ma Sarada in Tutu Sinhas The Light: Swami Vivekananda. The film, which is in Hindi and Bengali, is being shot in Kolkata and will be dubbed in 18 languages.
Says Tutu, Most of the actors have a theatre background. I went to watch a play of this theatre group called Sambed. Thats where I met Deep Bhattacharya, who is playing Vivekananda.

There were no photographs available of Ma Sarada during her youth. We used computer techniques to back-compose and figure out how she might look when she was young. This look matched that of Gargis. Premankur Chattopadhyay is playing Ramakrishna, while Sister Nivedita is being played by California-based actor, Courtney Stephens Brook.
Gargi says, Sarada Ma was one the most emancipated women of her times. The cinematography by Tutu is awesome and I feel the film will attract viewers not just from Bengal but beyond as well.
