The main event, Ganesh Chaturthi puja, was held on September 7. Festivities will conclude on September 9 with a cooking competition and the Headphone Round, fostering unity and compassion.
The much-anticipated 12th year Sri Sri Ganesh puja kicked off with great zeal at Behala Bakultala. The event, renowned for its vibrant cultural programs and community involvement, promises to be an exciting celebration and will go on till September 9.The inauguration of the puja marks the beginning of a series of events that will continue to engage and enthrall the community. On September 6, a clothes distribution drive was accompanied by a cultural program, fostering unity and compassion. The highlight of the celebrations, Ganesh Chaturthi puja, took place on September 7, followed by a bhog distribution.On September 9, the festivities will culminate with a cooking competition and the highly anticipated Headphone Round, where participants are invited to showcase their talents.Ratnadip Majumdar, chief organiser of the puja committee, stated, “This year’s celebrations are especially meaningful as we mark our 12th year of hosting this Ganesh Puja. It is not just about the rituals but about building a stronger, compassionate community. Our programs are designed to bring people closer, promote service, and celebrate the cultural richness of Kolkata.”Ganesh Chaturthi is a significant festival in India that celebrates Lord Ganesha, the remover of obstacles and the harbinger of good fortune.
