Filmmaker Subhrajit Mitra celebrates a quiet birthday at home

Director Subhrajit Mitra turned a year younger today and he is spending his special day by staying at

home

and doing things that he loves most.

Talking about his

birthday

plans, Subhrajit said, “I'm a very non-filmi person. Rather, more of a loner. So, my books and

movies

give me company. I will spend a quiet birthday at home today along with my mother as I am a bit under the weather. And also I have to travel to Goa to attend IFFI for the screening of

Avijatrik

there so I am not taking the risk of stepping out of home much now. I plan to have a lovely home-cooked meal today.”

The director also shared with us his birthday resolution for this year. “My birthday resolution for this year to make more beautiful movies which touches the soul. January 20 happens to be the third death anniversary of my dad. He suffered cardiac arrest on the morning of my birthday three years ago. I don't feel like celebrating my birthday since then. I miss him terribly. I wish he was with me now to see the accolades that I'm getting for Avijatrik, which coincidentally is also about a father and son bonding. I have dedicated this film in his loving memory,” shared Subhrajit.
