Amartya Sinha’s next ‘Asampurno’ marks the acting debut of filmmaker Samik Roy Choudhury. The film deeps dive into the inner conflicts of hour troubled minds. The first look poster is already out and it looks quite intriguing.


The story revolves around a lower-middle class Bengali family in Kolkata. Tathagata works as a quality control supervisor in a leather factory. He lives a peaceful life with wife Jonaki, who used to be a school teacher and their four-year-old daughter Pari. The film explores the complexities of their relationship while dealing with their own existential crisis. The director has already promised that the narrative has many layers along with some spine-tingling twists and turns.

While Shreya Bhattacharya is playing the female lead, Samik will be seen as Tathagata. Not only playing the lead but Samik has also penned the dialogues of ‘Asampurno’. The story and script are by the director himself.

Prosenjit Koley is the DOP and the Music has been composed by Tamal Kanti Halder. National award winner Pradipta Bhattacharya will be editing the movie.

Meanwhile, as a director Samik has two films in the pipeline, Paran Bandopadhyay starrer ‘Beline’ and a murder mystery ‘Mushroom’.
