The moment the order was passed, it was happiness all around the film and television fraternity of Bengal. Everybody was waiting for this moment ever since the

from March 19 because of the coronavirus outbreak.

Even if the Bengal government has allowed shooting to resume with less than 35 members barring reality shows, the film bodies in Bengal now have a bigger task to frame guidelines before everyone returns to the shooting floor.

The film bodies of Bengal such as Eastern India Motion Pictures Association (EIMPA), Artists’ Forum, Federation of Cine Technicians & Workers of Eastern, and representatives of TV channels will discuss a lot of things in an internal meeting on June 2. The guidelines which need to be followed on the floor to stop the spread of COVID-19 during shoots will be formed. And then, on June 4, the film bodies will have meeting with Bengal minister Arup Biswas where to discuss the final guidelines.

Piya Sengupta, president of EIMPA, has assured they are working on the guidelines keeping in mind the safety and security of all the actors and technicians. “It’s a difficult time for everybody, but we have to get back to work as well. We have to accept the new normal. Be it PPE kits, sanitizers or masks, we are keeping an eye on a lot of stuff. We are also looking into the Karnataka and Bollywood guidelines while drafting our own guideline,” she said.
