Filmmaker Indira Dhar Mukherjee of The Green Window and Soch fame is currently on cloud nine. Her debut film, Putul will finally be screened, and that too at the Marche Du Film- Festival de Cannes next month. The film features Mumtaz Sorcar, Koneenica Banerjee and Tanusree Shankar in pivotal roles.
Talking about the feat, Indira says, “I remember going numb with happiness the moment I got an email from them. Festival de Cannes is one of the most prestigious global platforms. The fact that my film will premiere there is something I still can’t internalise,” says the filmmaker.

Tanusree who plays the role of a mother-in-law in this film expresses, “I am very happy for Indira because her debut film will be premiered at Cannes.”
Mumtaz who plays the lead is super excited and scared at the same time with the news. “I am feeling emotional as we will be representing a Bangla film at an international platform. Indeed a proud moment for us,” adds Mumtaz.
The film focuses on the future generation of India and the responsibility of citizens in this regard.
