‘Ek Je Chilo Raja’ official teaser to release tomorrow

The motion poster of Srijit Mukherji’s next ‘Ek Je Chilo Raja’ has already created an astonishing bumble among the Bengali movie buffs. The period drama will narrate the infamous Bhawal Sanyasi case from a different angle and it’s based on ‘A Princely Impostor’ written by Partha Chatterjee.
A Bengali movie on the same topic had already been made in 1975 with the name ‘Sannasi Raja’ in which Uttam Kumar played the titular role.Now, to intensify the craze surrounding the upcoming period drama, the official teaser will be released on Sunday, August 12 on the 72nd death anniversary of Bhawal Sanyasi. Director Srijit Mukherjee himself shared the news through his twitter handle.
‘Ek Je Chilo Raja’ revolves around a court case when Bhawal Raja appears 12 years after the declaration of his death. While the titular role will be essayed out by Jisshu Sengupta, Rajnandini Paul will play his on-screen wife. Jaya Ahsan plays the zamindar’s elder sister. Anjan Dutta and Aparna Sen are all set to take on the roles of the two lawyers. Tanushree Chakraborty and Rudranil Ghosh also play a key role in the narrative.
