The cast and crew of
Nabarun Sen’s Dwikhandito were present at a south Kolkata theatre on Friday to attend the film’s premiere. Talking about the film, actor
Saswata Chatterjee said, “I got hooked to the subject when I first heard it. It’s about mental health and sounded very interesting at the start. But when we are acting or even dubbing after the shoot, it’s not possible to understand how the film is as a whole.
That’s why I have come just to see how the film has turned out to be; today, I am just a member of the audience.” While Saswata plays a writer in the film, who is suffering from Dissociative Identity Order,
Saayoni Ghosh has essayed the role of a psychiatrist. “I found the story very interesting. Those who have watched the film, have also liked it. I am hoping people will go to theatres, buy tickets and watch the film. It is time to support Bengali cinema,” she said. Bonnie Chakraborty, who has sung a song that comes with the film’s end credits, said he liked the concept. “Nabarun is a dear friend and he has tried to make a film that is ‘different’ by all means. He has used hand-held camera and the shots used come across as fresh. Even the soundscape of the film is extremely soothing. I am waiting for feedback from the audience,” he said. Dwikhandito is about a writer with split personality. He writes a piece, Pakhi Shob Kore Rob, and gets pulled into the world he creates with his pen.
