‘Drishyam’ actor Ishita Dutta keen to play a Bengali heroine

Pan India films are the latest trend. The spike and the demand for it have increased manifold in recent times. While the entire world of cinema is now becoming one, the language barrier has been broken. During a recent media interaction, ‘Drishyam’ actor Ishita Dutta revealed that she is keen to work in regional cinema.
The talented actress is best known for her work in Bollywood with the critically-acclaimed film ‘Drishyam’.Since her showbiz debut in 2012 with the Telugu film ‘Chanakyudu’ Ishita has appeared in a number of Hindi films and TV shows garnering a lot of appreciation.
Expressing her desire to work in regional cinema she has now said, “Regional cinema is making a lot of interesting content and I feel it is the right time for me as an actor to explore every aspect of it. Being a Bengali and since I know the language, I would love to explore a Bengali character deeply rooted with the culture, showing my real Bengali side to my fans.”
During the lockdowns over the past two years, the Bengali beauty also entertained her fans through her funny and quirky videos with husband Vatsal Sheth. All those videos were widely watched and the couple has become quite popular.

The young actress now hopes to juggle between different mediums with equal elan. "As an actor, I want to be part of all kinds of content and story-telling, be it web, films, or TV. I don't mind doing TV while I'm doing films," she had said in an earlier interview.

Meanwhile, on the work front, the actor will soon be reprising the role of Anju Salgaonkar in ‘Drishyam 2’ alongside Ajay Devgn, Tabu and Shriya Saran.
