Director duo Meenakshii and Abhishek are all geared up for their first film ‘Kuasha Jakhon’. Touted to be a paranormal romance, it has massive overtones of gothic and noir. While Gargee Roy Chowdhury will essay out the character of the female lead named Rajeshwari, another debutant Rishav Basu will be seen as an occultist. ‘Kuasha Jakhon’ explores a sensitive storyline where Rajeshwari is eternally symbolic.
There are few incidents from 1960’s and the present time that accelerates in an alternative format which graphically rolls towards the climax.
While elaborating on her first directorial, Meenakshi said: “Initially the story is a bit foggy. But as the film progresses the fog disperses unveiling a dark mystery. It’s a paranormal thriller with nostalgic effects. I don’t know of any Bengali film that has explored this subject in recent times. Even the background score is quite haunted.”
Apart from Gargee and Rishav, ‘Kuasha Jakhon’ has an ensemble cast which includes popular actors like Shataf Figar, Manali Dey, Anindya Pulak Banerjee and
Sudeshna Roy.
