Director Haranath Chakraborty hospitalized after testing COVID positive

He had already taken the two doses of the COVID-19 vaccine. Yet, it couldn’t save him from getting infected. On Sunday, director Haranath Chakraborty tested positive for COVID-19 and was admitted to a private hospital with a high fever, severe headache and tiredness. However, he hasn’t lost taste but can’t smell anything right now and oxygen level in his body is still okay. Incidentally, the veteran filmmaker along with his two friends Prabhat Roy and Sujit Guha took the second dose of the COVID-19 vaccine in the last week of April. Haranath had taken the first dose in March end. On the work front, he was working on his next film which is a comedy and will star Ranjit Mallick in the lead. Padmanabha Dasgupta has penned the script. The whole country is going through a difficult time with the COVID-19 case load growing fast every day. Closer home, many actors, directors and technicians from the entertainment industry in Bengal have tested positive, impacting shoots in a big way. The shooting of Kaushik Ganguly’s ‘Khabadi Khabadi’ has been put on hold after the director tested positive last week.
