New York’s Criterion Collection, a part of Janus Films, has recently successfully restored many Satyajit Ray classics which include the ‘Apu Trilogy’. Some of these Ray classics are already available on video but few others haven’t yet released in public.
'Pather Panchali', the first film of ‘Apu Trilogy’, marked Satyajit Ray’s debut as a director.
