Abhishek Saha’s directorial debut ‘Uronchondi’ has been generating a lot of curiosity among the Bengali movie buffs for its innovative storyline, gripping trailer and melodious songs. Touted to be the first road movie in Bengali cinema, ‘Uronchondi’ encapsulates the interesting story of four women who push all the boundaries of their oppressed lives in search of freedom.
As the main focus was to make a road movie, the film was entirely shot outdoor and it took only 13 days to wrap up the shooting part.
While speaking about the thrilling experiences of the outdoor shooting, one of the key protagonists of the film senior actress
Chitra Sen said, “Yes, it was quite a challenge when we were shooting outdoor. The extreme heat stopped the shooting many times and we were always quite tensed about the unexpected changes in the weather. But when we eventually finished the shooting, we felt so relaxed and it seemed all the hard works finally paid off.”
Apart from Chitra Sen, ‘Uronchondi’ stars Sudiptaa Chakraborty and two debutants Rajnandini Paul and Amartya Roy. Directed by Abhishek Saha, the film releases on August 3.
