After watching 'Alo Aamaar Alo', Uttam wished to meet his ‘Rama’, Suchitra. Unfortunately, due to her shooting commitments, Suchitra Sen couldn't, and the meeting never materialized. Uttam Kumar's sudden passing left reportedly left Suchitra in shock, who, as per rumors, turned increasingly reclusive and distanced herself from the cinematic world after Uttam’s demise.

Even in the face of his approaching end, Uttam Kumar’s dedication to cinema remained unwavering. While many are aware of his sudden death during the filming of 'Ogo Bodhu Sundari,' few know about his final dubbed film, 'Plot Number 5.' A cinematic marvel, this crime thriller saw Uttam Kumar brilliantly portray a wheelchair-bound serial killer. Despite its avant-garde approach merging parallel and mainstream cinema, the film didn't achieve nationwide success, yet it was a testament to Kumar's versatility as an actor. Notably, it also featured renowned artists Amol Palekar and Amjad Khan.

Tragically, after completing the dubbing for this innovative project and while shooting for 'Ogo Bodhu Shundari' in Kolkata, Uttam Kumar suffered a heart attack. The film world lost its shining star on that fateful day of July 24, 1980. Yet, his legacy, especially his magnetic chemistry with Suchitra Sen, remains immortal in the history of Bengali cinema.
