, the father of Indian football.

“The way Dev is portraying Nagendra Prasad Sarbadhikari is just outstanding! He will be seen playing the radical, open-minded, prolific athlete who was responsible for introducing the concept of football to the people of India, with its roots from undivided Bengal. We are yet to complete the first schedule of the film. Golondaaj is based on the life and time of Nagendra Prasad and the events that follow during that time, but it is not a biopic on him,” said the director showering praise on the Tollywood star.
While Dev will be seen in the titular role,
Ishaa Saha plays his wife Kamalini, the princess of Sovabazar, who contributes to an amazing romantic side to the film.
Anirban Bhattacharya plays Bhargav, a freedom fighter while Indrashish Ray will be seen as Jeetendra, an anti-British young man.
Srikanto Acharya
takes on the role of Nagendra’s father Surya Kumar Sarbadhikari and John Bhattacharya as Binod, a key character in the narrative.
The period piece is eyeing a mid-August release.
