Director
Dhrubo Banerjee is glad that he had the chance to meet and interact with
Bhaichung Bhutia
recently. “Bhaichung is an extremely warm person and
needless
to say, grounded too. He is closely associated with our film
Golondaaj
as he helped Dev to hone his football skills when we started the
shoot
. So, this time when he was in town,
Bhaichung
dropped by to know the status of the film and how things are going. So basically, we were chatting about the film and football. He is extremely happy that a film is being made on football,” said Dhrubo.
“I still remember how Bhaichung took out time from his busy schedule and helped Dev learn the nuances of the sport. The little tricks he shared with Dev made his job easy. But needless to say, Dev too is an obedient student,” the director added.
The shooting of the film had to be stalled after Dev got injured during one of the practise sessions. “Two days of the shoot are left to be completed. As Dev was injured in the shoulder and back, we had to cancel it. The film is physically very demanding, so we can’t shoot without Dev being fully fit. He is fine now, so we plan to schedule the shoot soon,” Dhrubo said.
