Dhrubo Banerjee and
Dev are coming together to bring alive a piece of Bengal history on screen. This will be Dhrubo Banerjee’s third film after the blockbuster Guptodhon franchise. Keeping in sync with the core theme of Bangaliyana and exploring ‘

’, like his last two films, Dhrubo will weave his story inspired by true incidents from an extremely illustrious period of the Bengal renaissance. The film will be shot during the winter this year.
The director expressed his excitement and said, “This is a dream topic. It could only come alive with Dev! I am so excited that he agreed without a second thought. It reinforced my confidence in good content for cinema.”
Speaking about the project, Dev said, “It’s always a pleasure working with Dhrubo, who is extremely talented when it comes to direction and script selection. I am fortunate to get this role and will try to give my best for this magnum opus.”
Dhrubo, who has worked with Dev for a commercial, is happy to do a film with him. “When I started writing the script, I could only visualise Dev. The character he is playing is larger than life. I have worked with him and what I like most is his down-to-earth attitude. He is a director-friendly actor, which makes my work easy,” said Dhrubo, who will complete the script by the end of this month. “Other than Dev, the other actors of the film will be decided soon. The technical team remains the same in every film of mine. Soumik Haldar will be the DoP of this film and I feel very comfortable working with him,” said Dhrubo.
