Dev planned an alternative climax for ‘Kabir’

‘Kabir’ promised to overwhelm the audience with its message of humanity, diving deep into the psychology of a terrorist and exploring the cruel manipulation of religion.
The film has so far lived up to the huge expectations set by fans and the media over the past few months. The film which released on the eve of Bengali New Year offers a lot of suspense and keeps the audience glued to their seats.
Now, during a recent interview, Dev came up with a sensational revelation. He reportedly revealed that being a producer, it was a difficult task to keep the real identities of the protagonists a secret till the release date. The producer, who also played the lead role in ‘Kabir’, reportedly claimed they prepared an alternative climax to the film, where Rukmini’s character Yasmin would have been arrested leaving the door open for a sequel. But it would have been a predictable ending, so director Aniket Chattopadhyay decided to go the other way.
‘Kabir’ has portrayed the ground from which terrorism rises; concentrating on the documentation of a terror attack’s several layers. The content depicts many psychological blocks built through religious fundamentalism and elaborates on the reality checks of a terror attack.
