Audiences Mon Mane Na. They want more of Tollywoods hit jodi. And as an answer to their filmi desires, Dev and Koel are back again, post Bolo Na Tumi Amar and Dui Prithibi, which is currently on the floors. This time around, its Dujone director Rajib, whos got the duo for his Paglu. Speaking about the venture, producer Nispal Singh cites his reasons for betting his funds on the Dev-Koel pair, Dev and Koel have done BNTA and MMN with us.
This will be their third project with the production house. They are a superhit jodi, No. 1 in the business. Their films have been superhit too and hence, this decision.
Incidentally, this is the first time that the production house is working with Rajib. When asked on the same, Nispal explains, He is a young director and I liked his work. Rajib is brimming with new ideas.
As for Rajib, he too is equally excited to be part of this venture. A film-maker, in most cases wants a stylish execution of his ideas. And he has to be given the freedom to execute. I am confident that I will be able to do so in Paglu.
This is an out-and-out masala flick. Its an action love story stylishly packaged. I can vouch for a fact that Tollywood is yet to feast its eyes on such execution of glamour and action. Paglu is the tale of an NRI girl who comes to Kolkata to pursue music and then falls for a Kolkata guy. The story takes off from there, adds the director, who interestingly, is working sans his actor wife, Srabanti, for the first time.
I have never said that my films will always have Srabanti playing the lead. I agree that Koels role would have suited Srabanti too. But her dates have been blocked for Ravi Kinagis next. And I think Koel is best-suited for the part of an NRI girl that she is essaying in this film. And Dev is a directors delight, he reasons.
Buzz is that Devs look is to watch out for in this film. Tollywoods latest heartthrob is also geared up for some kickass action in this film. Since it has a generous dose of action, people will get to see me in a different avatar here. In fact, my name is Paglu in the film, says Dev, adding, Its my second film with Rajib and its always a pleasure working with a friend. As far as Koel and I are concerned, we rock on-screen..
Koel Mallick too agrees when she says, I share a certain level of comfort with Dev. I remember for Bolo Na... we kept pulling each others leg off-screen, which automatically translated on-screen. Its great working with Dev. She continues, I gave my nod to this project as its something that I have never tried before.
The film, which has script and dialogues by NK Salil, cinematography by Kumud Verma, music by Jeet Gannguli and Rabi Ranjan Moitra as editor, will have Rajatava Dutta essaying Koels father. The shooting for the same is supposed to start end-August. We will be shooting in Kolkata, Hyderabad and Darjeeling. The second half of the film will be shot abroad. It will be a total of 20 to 25 days shoot, informs Nispal.
