Dev is looking forward to shooting with Mithun from July 5

After Ravi Kinagi’s Herogiri, which released in 2015, Mithun Chakraborty and Dev will team up again for Avijit Sen’s family drama, titled Projapoti. The film revolves around a father and his son. While Dev plays the son, Mithun essays the role of his father. This film will also see Mamata Shankar and Mithun Chakraborty coming together on screen after Mrinal Sen’s Mrigaya that was released in 1976. This will be Dev’s second film with Avijit, after his debut film Tonic.

Dev, who is looking forward to working with Mithun from July 5 in Kolkata and Varanasi, said, “Getting Dada (Mithun Chakraborty) and Mamo di (Mamata Shankar) on board after so many years is a big achievement. I share a father-son relationship with Dada in real life as well, so I guess that will help both of us perform well on screen too. Whenever I am in need, Dada is more than eager to help. He is my go-to person in real life as well. Dada loved the script and we all are waiting for the film to go on the floors. Despite Dada’s busy schedule and health conditions, he agreed to do the film.”

Elaborating on how they got Mithun on board, Dev said, “We had been toying with the idea of making this film for almost three years now. Dada was on our minds from the time Avijit had penned the script. But getting Dada on board was not easy given his schedule and health conditions. So, this time, we went straight to his place and read out the script to him. He loved it and agreed to come on board. Dada served us luchi, aloo dum and chicken for us. He woke up at 5 in the morning to prepare all the dishes himself. He is such a warm and loving person.”
