Demand for POSH in Tolly; Arindam Sil faces legal heat

On Monday night, a FIR was lodged against filmmaker Arindam Sil by an actress at Bishnupur PS, Diamond Harbour. Sil had earlier been suspended by the Directors’ Association of Eastern India (DAEI) following a complaint of sexual misconduct by the actress on the sets of Ekti Khunir Sandhane Mitin. The action was taken after a complaint was registered at West Bengal Commission for Women (WBCW).

Speaking to CT, Arindam Sil expressed it was unintentional. He said: “I am seeking legal help. I am clear to my conscience. The alleged matter concerned a shot which I was enacting in front of the cast and crew of the film. Am I mad that I’d disrespect a woman on set?”

According to the actress, she was made to feel uncomfortable on during the shoot when Sil asked her to sit on his lap in order to explain a kissing scene, and kissed her on the cheek
