Debojyoti Mishra is busy working in a project for a French Opera. It is based on the stories of
Radha and
Krishna Krishna. Even though he didn’t reveal much about the project, Debojyoti said that artists from Bangladesh, France, India and some other European countries will participate in it. “It will be a combination of dance, music and other performing arts,” he said.
The troupe will start its world tour in January next year from France.
Subsequently, it will go to different European countries and Bangladesh. Interestingly, the artiste, who is playing Krishna in the performance, is an African. Debojyoti said that he has been working on the project for the last three years. After a lot of hard work, the project finally got completed this year.
“I have combined Bangladeshi folk song Moymon Singha Gitika with a French folk song to create a different effect. Approximately 14 folk musicians from Bangladesh will perform in the project,” he added. This is however not the first time that Debojyoti is scoring for an opera. Before this, he has worked in two projects named ‘100 years of Bengali cinema’ and ‘Story of sound in the USA’.
Besides this work, Debojyoti is busy with his upcoming art exhibition, which will start from August 30. The name of the exhibition is ‘Shadows of Songs’ and it deals with the regimentation of music. The exhibition of 130 paintings and five installations will be at a city art gallery. He has used human migration as one of the predominant topics of his paintings.
