Debleena Dutt Mukherjee is missing her vacations

is missing trips and vacations big time. Speaking to us about it, she said, "I have had a short trip recently and it was my only one this year. Usually, Tathagata (Mukherjee, husband) and I travel three to four times a year. We are travel freaks. But this year, we haven’t been able to go anywhere. We also try to take both our parents out once a year. Even that has not been possible this year," she said.

Debleena loves animals. So whenever they choose a spot, jungles and wildlife are the two most important criteria. The couple has been on an east African safari and the north Bengal jungles were their first choice this year. "We love hills too. Besides, the

pandemic

definitely made us take a lot of things into account. We wanted to go to north Bengal but didn't want to use public transport. So, we ended up driving to the interiors of

Mirik

and

Lepchajogot

. It was close to 19 hours of a bumpy ride. We had an experienced driver who rides in hilly areas and so we could enjoy the view," she said.

The actress and her husband had taken all care to research a place online that doesn't entertain too many guests. "Tathagata does all the research and we contact the hotels directly. This time we chose a homestay. And the bungalows were quite far from each other. There was also scope for a personal bonfire on a hilltop every evening, personal swings and the Kanchenjunga was straight in sight from the balcony. It was heavenly," Debleena shared.
