Director Debjoy Malick has shot a short film, Mirage, which features
Aparajita Adhya,
Bharat Kaul and Payel Dutta in the lead. The film was shot before the coronavirus pandemic led to a national lockdown, but the poster was designed recently.
“Mirage is a collage of four stories. It has no dialogues but music plays an important role. In all our stories, we have tried to capture a core emotion.
We plan to send it to festivals once the lockdowns end,” said the director.
He revealed that the first story is about a girl who has everything she wants but nothing she needs. The second story is about a teacher and her relationship with her mask. The third story is about fate and fourth, about the vanity in rhetoric. “Each story is woven by surrealism and the content, introspective,” said the director.
Aparajita said, “There is a child in every human being and that’s what the film is all about. I have also written and made a short film, Shamuk, during the lockdown, where I play the lead.”
