’, has no such hang-ups over her on-screen trajectory. In ‘Guldasta’ she will be seen sharing the screen with acting powerhouse like
Swastika Mukherjee and Arpita Chatterjee – surely an incredible trio of protagonists, just when Bengali cinema is screaming for more women-centric movies.
In Arjunn’s next, she plays a docile Bengali homemaker Renu whose life centers her family – no doubt a stark contrast to most of the characters she has played so far, and that's exactly why Debjani is excited about ‘Guldasta’. “This is the first time I'm doing something like this, a role so different than the ones people are used to seeing me in. I'm excited about that, and of course, I'm really looking forward to working with Swastika and Arpita, they are so talented and have a lot of experience as well and sharing a screen with them is bound to be amazing,” said the actor.
In fact, Debjani and the young director go long back. Arjunn even considers her a lucky charm, as she was cast in his critically acclaimed short film ‘The 6th Element’ and also in his last film ‘Abyakto’, where he had to create a role especially for Debjani.
