Debashree Roy just reunited with Rani Mukerji after nine years!

Debashree Roy just reunited with her sibling and niece after nine whole years! The actor just flew to Mumbai to meet her older sister Krishna Mukherjee, who’s also Rani Mukerji’s mother. “My didi had a fracture when Rani was shooting for Mardaani. So, she couldn’t travel to Kolkata. We lost our mother on November 8 last year and didi was quite depressed. So I wanted to meet her. It was her birthday too. So, I decided to fly off to Mumbai to be with her and make her feel better,” said Debashree.
She added, “It was Rani’s brother Raj Mukherjee’s anniversary too. So, it was a double celebration in Mumbai.”
Debashree also met Rani’s daughter Adira during her trip. “Didi has moved to a new home and the whole place has been done up beautifully by Rani. In fact, I went to Rani’s home for lunch and her house too has been beautifully decorated by her. Her daughter is a sweetheart and she took me around the whole house. Now she too calls me Chumki mashi,” said the actress with a smile.

Debashree also exchanged some gifts with Rani during their meeting. “Rani has gifted me a beautiful jhumka and loads of makeup. I took a handloom sari for her and matching jewellery to go with it. We had a great time together. The day I went for lunch in her house she played all my film songs.”
The actress who has not been seen on the big screen in a decade is reading scripts but is yet to pick a project. “If I sign a film now, it will be my comeback film. I haven’t acted in a film for 10 years. But to sign a project, I need to have a good script that will help fulfil my creative drive. I am reading a few scripts now but I haven’t come across anything worth taking up,” she said.
