Closely knit friends make a film

After working as public relations executives in Tollywood for long, three young friends — Soumya Sarkar, Animesh Ganguly and

Pratik

Chakraborty — decided to come up with good content for film buffs. Soon, they started developing their own production houses, roped in indie director Shieladitya Moulik and decided to make

, a film that revolves around

“We’ve been working in the industry for years and wanted to present a good film to the audience. One day, we watched Shieladitya’s independent film, Mrs Scooter, on an online streaming site and fell in love with his work. We became friends in no time, thanks to common friends. He penned the script and we agreed,” Soumya told us.
Talking about the storyline, Mumbai-based Pratik said, “It is a simple story that revolves around an ordinary girl. It is a woman-centric film, but not very preachy. That is the charm of it.”

A lot of effort went into making the film. A month-long workshop was organised to teach knitting to the actors. “Ishaa Saha, the lead actress, impressed us on the first day with her knitting skills. However, she still chose to attend the
workshop to prepare better for the film,” said Animesh. Meanwhile, another producer, Sudip Mukherjee, who pitched in before the release of the film, said, “After seeing the work and effort of these kids, I decided to offer my support too.”
