Did you know that Shiboprosad Mukherjee had acted in the montage of Churni Ganguly’s first directorial venture for television and the shoot had lasted the entire night? So, when her son Ujaan Ganguly made his big screen debut in a film produced by Shiboprosad Mukherjee and Nandita Roy, she was more than happy. “I respect Nanditadi and I feel Shibu is a great actor.
I worked with them in Haami and was amazed so see how the team works in that production house. I told Nanditadi if I could ever be of any help besides acting, I want to work with them just to learn how a team works,” said Churni.
She went on to add, “I am happy that
Kaushik (Ganguly) will direct Ujaan in Lokkhi Chele, which will be produced by Nanditadi and Shibu’s production house. I wish Ujaan all the best for his film career, but he has to continue his studies too at the same time”
In Lokkhi Chele, Kaushik will be directing his son Ujaan for the first time. “The film is a double bonanza for me. As I will be directing my son and the film will be from the production house of Nandita and Shiboprosad who launched Ujaan in Rosogolla,” said Kaushik, adding, “Now I realize why doctors can’t operate on their own children; why they say their hands tremble! In my life, I have never taken so much time to pen a script.”
Ujaan, whose dream was to act under his father, said, “I am looking forward to be directed by baba, who also happens to be my favourite director.”
