Amritangshu Chakravarty who has earned critical acclaims and festival laurels for his short films ‘Happiness..The Awakening’, ‘Hothat Dekha…The Sudden Meet’, ‘Gondho -The Aroma’ is now ready for the big leap. The young filmmaker is all geared up for his debut feature film ‘Choroibeti- A Journey’. What’s interesting is the film has been shot using only two smartphones and 3 LED lights.
The story of this 1 hour 45 minutes film sheds light on the struggling journey of a young man Subhamoy. He belongs to a Bengali middle-class family and aspires to be an independent filmmaker. ‘Choroibeti- A Journey’ stars veteran actor
Barun Chanda, Samir Biswas, Madhuchhanda Ghosh and Susmita Chakraborty in pivotal roles. A group of talented newcomers
Tathagata Mukherjee, Suchanda Banerjee and Sreyasi Chakraborty also play important roles along with Amritangshu himself making his acting debut.
While Megh Bannerjee has composed the background score, Shrayee Paul has rendered for the three songs in the film. It’s currently in post-production stage and Amritangshu hopes to wrap up all things by February. The film has been bankrolled by the director’s own production house but Amritangshu is looking for someone who can co-produce it by taking care of the distribution and release part.
