“I share a long relationship with KIFF. I remember attending the festival with my mother, Satarupa, whose films were screened there. I was very young then,” the actress said.
This is Aditya’s third film. “Two years back, I came to KIFF with Aditya’s Tikli and Laxmi Bomb, which was screened in the festival. It feels good to be back home,” Chitrangada added.
Talking about his film being screened in KIFF, the director said, “One of the inspirations of making this film is Satyajit Ray. He could make films without money being the most important aspect in his art. That is a big learning for me. It is largely because of him that KIFF holds a very special place in my heart. Other than that, there are so many movie buffs who attend the festival. Last time, when I came here with Tikli and Laxmi Bomb, it was a houseful show at
Devi Aur Hero is about a woman, Kaali Ghosh, played by the actress, and a therapist, Vikrant Saraswat, played by Vinay. Kaali, a young woman from rural Bengal, has been made a sex slave in a bachelor’s pad of an industrialist's son, in suburban Mumbai. Her abuse has led to blackouts every day. In her hallucination, she wakes up in strange situations without any memory of how she got there. The film also talks about a therapist, Vikrant Saraswat, who himself seeks help for sex addiction. Kaali miraculously escapes her captor and reaches Mumbai. The first thing she does is to seek help for the blackouts. She lands up at the clinic of our sex addict therapist.

is on cloud nine. Her film, Devi Aur Hero (The Goddess and the Hero), directed by Aditya Kripalani, will be screened atKolkata International Film Festival
