Chitra Bharati Kolkata Short Film Festival to be organized on February 16

This year’s

Chitra Bharati Kolkata Short Film Festival

will be organized on February 16 from 11 am to 7 pm at the Ashutosh Birth Centenary Hall.
While veteran actor Victor Banerjee is the President of the festival committee, the rest of jury members of this festival are Abhijit Dasgupta, Dean of EDM Dept, SRFTI, Adinath Das, Ex-Dean of SRFTI, Gautam Bose, documentary film maker and Rathin Banerjee, member of censor board.
The one-day

festival has already received more than 100 entries out of which 22 have been selected for screening.
The selected films are divided into two parts - East and North-East and Rest of India along with two categories, professional and students, two genres namely fiction and non-fiction. In one session the fiction films will be screened and the other session is reserved for the non-fiction documentary-dramas.
Elaborating on the main focus of the festival, Victor Banerjee said “The main aim is to give a platform to the young talented individuals. With this festival, we are trying to promote the cultural heritage of our country and inspire not to fall prey to cultural imperialism.”
