Interestingly, using the word ‘Musalman’ is nothing new to Bengali cinema. Renowned filmmaker Suman Ghosh's film ‘Podokhhep’ (2006) featuring Soumitra Chatterjee and Nandita Das also used the word in the movie. Recently, Kaushik Ganguly's National Award-winning film ‘Bisorjon’, which narrates an inter-faith love story, also used the same word as many as four times.
